About Us

The new library for the Egyptian Council of State (ECS) was opened on 2nd November, 1994. This time happened to be the same time that the opening of the new building of the Council of State took place, with the attendance of his Excellency President of the Republic.

This library includes in addition to the latest books and legal references, a number of rare transcripts and documents in addition to periodicals and legal magazines (Official Gazette, Egyptian Facts Gazette, legal newsletter, and other periodicals and legal magazines that are issued in both Arabic and French). In addition to a lot of bylaws that regulate labor and legal systems for different Arab and foreign countries.

The ECS library follows the standard scientific rules applied in the international libraries, including: applications of Anglo-American indexing, Mark's international system to identify paragraphs and bibliographic registration elements which are applied internationally, It also uses Due's numerical system to classify information. The library staff has been trained to use these rules and regulations.

The technological structure of the library has been upgraded by owning ELIS system which is an integrated system for libraries that provides different services for members of the ECS to facilitate the procedures of borrowing and reading.
